[We attempt
to follow the scripture to the fullest according to our ability. “But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with
her head uncovered dishonoreth her head: for that is even all one as if she were
shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a
shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.”
(I Corinthians 11:5,6)
Here we see
that a woman should indeed have her head covered (or shaved) when seeking God.
Paul goes further to explain why a woman should be covered and a man should not
be covered. The man (male) was created in God’s image while the female was
taken out of man and therefore a spin off of that image. God wants us to appear
as one in the exact image that he created man in. So, a man should not alter his
image when seeking the Lord (by wearing hats or heading wear) and the woman
should appear in the same image by covering her head (hair) which was a special
addition given her. When we follow this simple precept we are acknowledging Gods
order established at the creation. We are also recognizing that God is creating
in all of us who believe – beings just like himself. Therefore in the
resurrection we will truly be his children (God). There will be one image and no
more male or female. “There is neither Jew nor
Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye
are all one in Christ Jesus.”
(Galatians 3:28)
